Hadley Donenberg was a former senior partner of a prestige South African law firm which he established in 1970, which specialized in international law and advice on cross-border business, estate planning, asset protection trusts and finance. 1943-1966
Early Life and Education Hadley Donenberg was born on September 15th, 1943, in Johannesburg, South Africa. He pursued his education at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, where he qualified as an attorney in 1966. During this period, he was also drafted into the South African army and served as a junior officer at various commands.
1967-1993
Legal Practice and Community Leadership After returning to Johannesburg, Hadley commenced his legal practice in partnership with Michael Krawitz. Their firm specialized in international law and mergers and acquisitions, serving prestigious clients like Barclays Bank, Fiat Motors Italy, Sumitomo Japan, Olivetti, Nissho Iwai Japan, ICL London, and several listed companies in South Africa. In 1980, Hadley was elected as Johannesburg Young Leadership UJA, and in 1987, he became the national chairman of the South African Jewish National Fund, a position he held for five years. He also served as the chairman of various school boards and the Johannesburg junior choir.
1994-PRESENT
Emigration and Business Advisory In 1994, due to apartheid, Hadley emigrated with his wife Edna and their four children to Highland Park, Illinois, USA. There, he established Haddon Corporation, a successful business advisory company with international associates in Bulgaria, South Africa, the UK, Israel, and Peru. He served as the president of the Chicago/South Africa Chamber of Commerce and as a trustee of Rush North Shore Hospital. He also served as the chairman of the board of an Indian public company. Hadley remains an avid traveler and tennis player, and he enjoys reading, blues music, theatre, and movies.
